U. X. Design @ Phantom
U. X. Design, or UX Design, is the practice of building a digital experience that makes sense, intuitively, to end users. End users are people who use digital experiences, such as websites. U. X. designers create digital experiences based on decades of best practices, psychology, and their own style and tastes.
The combination leads to familiar and comfortable outcomes because the interface a user uses is designed well. The discipline is inherently subjective, from the point of view of what's possible, but when you compare the ones used, the amount of variation, you find that the variations that are used in practice, are very similar to one another. Especially when you limit the study group to countries or web pages, for example, that are all in one language (American English, for example). If you vary by language, then the standard becomes different, and varies by country, language, and target user base. Great U. X. designers know all of this. |
